Master Sergeant William McDaniel was born in Greenville, Ohio.

Master Sergeant William McDaniel a pararescueman was assigned to the 320th Special Tactics Squadron, stationed at Kadena Air Base, Japan.

On February 21, 2002 Master Sergeant William McDaniel and nine others were killed in a helicopter crash in the Philippines. The helicopter crashed after ferrying U. S. Special Forces and supplies from Zamboanga City to Basilan Island.

He is survived by wife, Deborah, and son.
